iTunes Playlists and Songs Gone With Catalina

I updated my Mac to Catalina.. well, it was an automatic update, and now I see that over 11 years of a perfectly curated music library with playlists are all gone. I had so many songs ripped from CD's that I probably don't even have anymore, songs that were downloaded and imported that couldn't be found in iTunes or Spotify, specially curated playlists... years and years of work are all gone. I have a total of 50 songs now in my Music app. This is utterly disappointing. Had I known, I would have exported my library prior or would not have updated at all. This is almost as bad as Myspace deleting almost everything from everyone's account.
