I am not able to copy to hard disk from macbook air.

I have a NTFS formatted hard drive with lot of data in TB. I have tried to copy some files from my Mac air to HD, but it is not allowing to copy because of some issues. I know that I may have to change to FAT32 but it will wipe my data off. Please help me to fix this issue.
