Voiceover recordings stay empty even though it recognizes sound. 10.4.7

I am trying to record voiceovers as I have hundreds of times before. The recordings are completeley empty though. I think this is a bug and it happened after updating to 10.4.7

It recognizes my microphone fine.

It shows that I am making sounds.

It doesn´t work with the system microphone either.

It acts completley normal, just that the sounds are not saved.

Any help?

Start by rebooting and trashing your preferences. Hold Opt-Cmd as you launch the application.

What OS is this? Where are you recording to? Does the playhead move when recording is in progress?

Check Security/Privacy system preferences to make sure FCP has Full Disk Access, Input Monitoring, Automation, Files and Folders access, Camera, and Microphone access.
