Microsoft Remote Desktop 8

Hello,

I need the App in title because I can't install the Microsoft Remote Desktop 10 version, minimum version "macOS 10.12 or later".

I have OS X 10.11 "El Capitan".

How can I do? Where do I find version 8?

Alternative apps?

Thanks so much

Perhaps due to a misunderstanding, you need not use App store at all to get that version.

Simply click on the link given at least twice in the preceding replies. The blue text is live.

It goes to the correct URL to get the item and appropriate download will commence.

"Yes, clicked to confirm the link in above reply does go direct

to Microsoft Remote Desktop 8 for older Mac system, for free.

While not necessarily needing their software in my older Mac."

It will not be where you continue to look. 'Mouse-over' to see link.

Read what already was written & follow instructions.

On my El Capitan system, the URL

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-remote-desktop-8/id715768417?mt=12

actually opened the App Store with Microsoft Remote Desktop 8 ready to install

Also my Safari webpage had the following button

Again, this is from an El Capitan system.

If you are not seeing this, then I suggest you boot into Safe mode and try again while in Safe mode

Try booting into Safe mode

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564

This will not load any 3rd party additions, it will load some more conservative Apple drivers (may cause screen flicker), and it will clear some kernel caches (a cache is saved data in a form that can speed up a program, but is totally redundant to the original source, and thus can be safely cleared).  Booting into Safe mode is just an experiment, but can frequently eliminate any 3rd party interference, or a cached item out-of-sync with the world.  (Verify Safe mode via Applications -> Utilities -> System Information -> Software -> Boot Mode -> Safe vs Normal)

That's not an easy question to pose in this user-to-user community.

While I'd not tried to see if this modified link could be used to gain

access to any app store, lack of country letter code may direct to local.

Had been suggested in some instances, the URL may work as modified:

https://apps.apple.com/app/microsoft-remote-desktop-8/id715768417?mt=12

From reading various similar information, it was said these older links were

to be depreciated (microsoft) and may no longer work in various regions.

You may have to ask in a 'microsoft' community; if there, a reference exists.

There may be some settings in your browser if that does not allow the standard small screen these

seem to always provide, with another button to click. Here is a screenshot of my Mac mini i7 quad,

running El Capitan 10.11.6:

{..And mine also has tiny arrow and 'view in mac app store' in box; as default..}

The item is free. What happens IF you go to the App store and try to download?

Get out of the Preview Page, and go to where one can download.. its there.
