I can't get my new printer to print from my laptop. I have installed an Epson XP-4100 and per print-out, the network is working correctly. The printer receives the wireless signal, but no matter how I follow the directions, no printing.

I went back to see what the installation instructions from Epson are. I looked at the items that the "Drivers & Utilities Combo Package" included and realized that I did install everything that was needed. Then I went to the Apple Support link you showed and read through those suggestions. I re-installed the the download from Epson and answered a few questions differently and also re-set the printer/scan on Mac Utilities and finally was able to load the Epson printer. So - long story short, it printed two different pages and I am assuming for now that it is correctly installed. The one thing that I am not sure about is that it seems to take a long time from hitting the print command to begin printing. That may be a problem or just the way it works. I will find out! Thank you very much for your suggestions, I wouldn't have been able to do it without you!

I think the lag from hitting the print command to begin printing is expected new behavior with some vendor drivers because of the number of settings they have. One of the changes in Catalina is loading the vendor settings in their own PDEs instead of putting them in "Printer Features."
I don’t quite understand your comment. This printer isn’t as user friendly as the HP, but it has so many features that I want that I will keep trying. I have 10 days to return it if it is too much bother to use. Thank you for your time and interest! It encouraged me to work this out myself.
