iPhone XR ringer keeps resetting to zero after ios13 installed

Hi.

I have an iPhone XR and since installing ios13 the ringer volume will reset itself to zero. The mute switch is not activated and I have turned off the slider to change ringer volume with the side buttons. I did not have this problem with ios12.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re having some issues with the ringer volume on your iPhone changing on its own. This started after iOS 13 was installed. I’ll be happy to help with this.

To verify, are you adjusting any volume on your iPhone before this occurs? Sounds for music or when watching a video? This may isolate the cause of this if so. Also, if you have any Bluetooth devices, disconnect those from your iPhone and see if the issue continues.

If that doesn’t help, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode on your iPhone and see if Attention Aware Features are on. If so, turn them off and then test again.

Try restarting your iPhone as well:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks for going through those steps. If this is still happening after taking these steps, use the steps from the following links to back up your iPhone and restore it to factory settings:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Test your iPhone is this condition and see if the issue returns. If it doesn’t restore the backup you just made:

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Test it once more and see if the issue is resolved.
