Messaging and Receiving

Why do all of the phones under the same Apple ID receive each other's messages? We turned off send and receive for all of the numbers on each phone but we will still receive the message that a phone is receiving the messages. Help asap please.

Log out of iMessage on the devices that you do not want to receive the messages.
