16 mg vs. 32 mg....is it worth the extra money?

I have a 3G 16mg and it is only about half full on memory so I am trying to decide if I should upgrade to the 32mg when I get the ip4. I have approx. 1500 songs and about 600 photos (no videos yet!) but don't have a ton of apps (25 tops). I don't want to regret not getting the bigger memory but wonder if I really need it. Anyone have any suggestions?

In a sense it is. And it's GB, not MG.

MG, being Megabytes, would only be able to hold 0.5% of the operating system capacity requirement of 3GBs. 😉

But on topic - Not many people need the 32GB. Those that do need it would be iMovie camera users for example. Or copying a whole HD TV season worth 16 shows varying on quality up to 2GB.

If you are going on a trip and plan on doing iMovie bits, 32GB would be worth it if you are going to record many many hours.

I switched from a 16GB 3GS to a 32GB I4. If you plan on shooting video, adding songs, or buying any videos or large apps, or take a lot of pictures, you will want/need the 32GB. When you take into account formatting of the memory, and other pre-allocated things, you actually only have about 29 GB of the 32 available.

The last thing you want to take into account is how long are you going to keep this phone?? I you plan to buy the I5 (or whatever it will be called) next summer, then maybe you can get away with the smaller amount of memory. If you are going to keep it for 2 years, or longer, then the 32 GB is probably best.
