DNS Cache

Hi Community,

is the DNS Cache persistent or is a reboot also flushing the DNS Cache automatically?

I know about dscacheutil and how I can flush the DNS Cache manually. My question was, if a reboot is flushing the DNS Cache also? In other words: Do I have to flush the DNS Cache exclusive by using dscacheutil in order to debug a DNS issue or does a system reboot come up with the same result?

Thanks for clarifying. Don't know since I have no such issues. BTW, why bother rebooting? If you manually flush it, it's gone, and you can continue troubleshooting.

Maybe if this problem exist since a couple of days and several reboots were in between, I can safely ignore the possibility that one more flush of the DNS Cache could fix this problem 😉

Provided that a reboot does the same.
