Apple Watch 3 and text messages

I just purchased an apple watch 3 - I am informed of new text messages via a pulse on my watch, rather than a sound on my phone, which I don't like. Is there a way to modify that ? - Thanks

Yes. On your iPhone Watch App go to Messages...tap on it and scroll down to Aletrs and turn on Sound. (I have both Sound and Haptic on my setting).
