I added a Visa card & marked it as default choice. The summary screen still shows MasterCard as the default card.
How can I correct that error?

I understand from your post that you've made a Visa card the default payment in iTunes but you're still seeing a MasterCard as the default payment method. I'd be happy to help out.
I'd like for you to confirm the steps here have been done:
Change, add, or remove Apple ID payment methods - Apple Support
"Change the order of your payment methods
Tap Edit, then use the move order icon 
to rearrange your payment methods. Apple will attempt to charge payment methods in order from top to bottom. You can't change the order in which Apple ID balance is charged."
