are iphone backups to MacBook Air on Catalina included in time machine backups

Now that iTunes backups for iPhones are dead, I backup my iPhone to my MacBook Air, using Device/Backup. If I backup the Mac( Catalina iOS) with Time Machine, will it include the iPhone backup?

Yes, if you’re using Finder to synch as is expected on Catalina.

I don’t have a Catalina system synch’d to a phone to check, but here’s the support article with the path:

Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Navigate there in Finder, then open Time Machine, and see if you have backups listed.
