That is very interesting about the current CV-19. How long would the Tinnitus last if it was from CV-19 though? I would think after your recover that the tinnitus would go away.

I don’t want to make any generalizations, I was put on a steroid by the doctor to see if it clears up the inflammation and/or tinnitus. It’ll likely be different for each person. Crossing fingers.

Did your primary physician, an ENT or an audiologist put you on the steroids? Just curious, because I would love to try and do something about it.

I often just have them in my ear for a zoom call, and then I leave them in for say an hour with nothing on at all, and when i take them out my ears are ringing. They are definitely causing it.

Sounds like exactly what happened to me.

It’s believed the frequency output is too high.

Can confirm the same thing happened with me as well! Bought Fri 5th, spent an 2 hours with them, noticed an immediate increase in tinnitus (before it was very low). Spent around another 2 hours with them over the weekend, with ANC off, but strangely the same problem was happening.

On Monday I had a work call, spent 4 hours with ANC off, the tinnitus was LOUD. After a week of not using, it went down slightly yesterday morning, but returned in the eve. This morning it lowered again. Im hoping it will continue to improve.

Sure, some people discover their tinnitus on some point, but most of them that talk about this already have some knowledge about what triggers it and if its worse or better during the time.

Its not just Airpods Pro, other headphones do this, even the source hardware could cause a peak on some high frequency that triggers the problem.

On the case of the Airpod Pro, at least for me, was something that was noticeable, got worse, but this does not mean that the Airpod Pro is bad or is causing everybody to suddenly having tinnitus, it just means that it triggers people that already have it.

As of what could be causing it, I dont know, The Airpod Pro was my first iem to have a oval silicon tip(all others are perfect circles), and even tough it sealed very well, and was also very comfortable, it could be pressuring the the ear in the wrong way maybe. The sound was also ok, not the best, but also not harsh. So all of this is trial by error for people that have tinnitus.

The person to whom I was replying said they did not have tinnitus before using AirPods and that they had used other in-ear headphones in the past. They specifically claimed that the AirPods had caused their tinnitus. While I don't disagree with your post in general, it doesn't quite apply in this case.
