i have no idea why my Ipad was disabled cannot correct

how can I fix my Ipad. Its only 6 mos old and my wife has one and its never happened to her. Message id IPAD disabled. I use the same id always. Help

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
