Activation server down ipad

Haven't found any useful solutions. I have an older iPad 2. A1396 64 GB. Worked fine this morning until the UPDATE and now I can't even open anything up. Keeps saying. " Your ipad could not be activated bc the activation server is temporarily unavailable..." I saw 1 solution but it was for the IPHONE. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!!!

Not so tech savvy either. Simple step by step instructions please :)
