AirPods Pro firmware 2B588 reduce the noise cancelling capability

After my AirPods Pro auto-update to firmware 2B588 the noise cancelling suddenly become very weak, almost no difference from Off mode and Noise cancel mode.

Reset the AirPods Pro fix it for few minutes, then it got auto-update and noise cancelling capability got reduced again.

If Apple reduce the noise cancelling function then AirPods Pro is simple lost it’s point, I don’t understand why Apple do this.

i have done many things to fix this APP debacle. I contacted their support team and PR department about the media traction this situation is getting and many others things that I cannot disclose in this thread for legal reasons. I will keep trying if I need to, I thought the 2D15 update would make everyone more lax, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. If everyone would like, I can start everything back up again to try to fix this for everyone. But it’s going to take some time. Hopefully.

Have you guys with crackling/warble/static/distortions etc tried switching to foam tips?

I have, and it works wonders for me.

Especially the treble warble (from the adaptiv EQ?) is totally gone.

The fit and comfort is definately better, with also less thumping sounds when walking/running as well.

I also feel the seal is better, making the ANC works a little better too.

And of course, bass is more punchy with a good seal.

I'm usually a medium size tip user, but the foam tip that suited me best was a large one (ordered at Ebay, from a german guy)

The new firmware 2D27 completely restored mine back to normal. Reading this thread and I can't believe how negative you are. This is why I got rid of my horrible Samsungs and went this direction - Actual company support. Patience is a virtue.

New firmware appears to have made things worse for me with ANC. 2D15 was better than previous but this new one 2D27 from initial testing seems to be worse, I can barely notice difference between enabled and disabled. I am past caring now tbh, they sound good, they work with my iDevices but the ANC isn't much good. Why Apple screw about with this and not provide *any* release notes annoys me but what can I do.

Thank you Streetspy. You and suntan (above) have convinced me not to bother updating the AirPods (esp. now that I sold my iPhone after 4 major problems with Apple in the last 7 months that have not been resolved).


Apple has lost touch with its user base and is losing users quickly -- me being one of them. 13 years of loyalty are 100% gone. I will keep my AirPods though for now as I already spent quite a lot on those as well just like all of us did 🙃

All of my products are performing flawlessly now. Samsung was a complete failure for me in every regard. Try getting support from them, whatever you've gone through will be ten times worse.


Now if Apple would just make a TV. Samsung bricked my $3500 dollar tv after their last update and refuses to replace it.

Apple turned our APPs into AirPods 2s w/ a higher price tag and turned my $1500 XS Max into a paperweight with an OLED on it and the GM of the Apple Store called everyone on these forums crazy and said it's just a quote "echo chamber" of people repeating other people's "issues" and claiming that they exist. Yup, he said that. He said that no issues exist and that it's all a bunch of rubbish. That's the Apple way! Apple are demigods and they are infallible, remember?

Don't hold your iPhone 4 wrong and make sure you get an OtterBox for your 6 Plus! 🙃🙃🙃👌👌👌❤❤❤

Enjoy a complete lack of support with your new phone with its green screen, failing fingerprint sensor, GPS failure and picky bluetooth. I had three of those... total garbage and I'm still out money.


TV is four months old and I was just told I would have to ship it back at my expense.
