new IPhone

Hi, I`m in New Zealand right now and planning to bay the New IPhone 11. A friend told me that the Phones that get sold here sometimes don`t work in Germany/Europe the same way they do here. It is supposed to has something to do with the network capability. Is that true or does it not matter where I buy my new phone
