Command-tab / app switcher stops working

I used my iPad with external keyboards (Smart Keyboard Folio and a Smart Keyboard) and command-tab will often stop working. Restarting the iPad fixes the issue briefly, but the (lack of) behavior will always return. The keyboard works fine otherwise, and even holding down the tab key invokes the menu of commands available using the modifier key. Has anyone found a fix?

Since restarting your iPad fixes the issue briefly, why not perform a thorough fix by resetting your iPad to its factory settings?


Make a backup of your iPad using iCloud or iTunes, you can refer to this link: https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT203977


Then you reset your iPad to its factory settings, you can refer to this link:

After that, you can restore your iPad from a backup (iCloud or iTunes), you can refer to this link: https://support.apple.com/en-sg/HT204184
