ipod touch not booting

My iPod touch 4th generation won't boot up, it goes to a blinding white screen then just turns off and does it over and over again, or simply a bootloop. The battery isn't completely dead, it worked earlier today. I plugged it in, it started the bootloop and never gotten to the lock screen at all. What is a good solution to this issue? Recovery mode and restore? Let it go on? Let it die?
