This icon typically corresponds with an App recently removed from the device.

As you have only one icon in the “recently used” area of the dock (as illustrated in your screenshot), as you open other Apps, these will eventually replace the “not so recently used” App icon with Apps that you have opened and used.

Well I’ve Had This Happen To Me On Many Of My Apple Devices Mainly iPhones & iPads But I Know When Mine Did It The App Still Worked Like It Always Has, Nothing Changed Beside The App Icon Looked Like A 🎯Target 🎯 With A Grid. The App Icon Only Changed After I Had Updated The App.

Say For Instance You Had A App Called ”DOCTOR MARIO“ & It Needed A Update So You Updated The App Then After The Update Completed You Noticed It Looked Different As In The App Was White With A 🎯Target🎯 & Grid. But Even Though It Still Worked Like Always It Still Stayed Like That.

IDK Why Some Apps Do That. I Know It’s Annoying But I Haven’t Found Anything To Gets The App To The Original App Icon As In How The App Should Look Like.

Also If Someone Else Had The Same App On Their Apple Device I’ve Noticed Theirs Looked Like It Supposed To Look. Which IDK If They Was Running The Same iOS Software As I Had & Updated Their Apps When Needed So Thats Why IDK If That Could Have Something To Do With It Or Even If It Could Be Because I Had A iPhone X & They Had A iPhone 11. So I Think It’s Just Weird Some Do It & Some Don’t. But I Do Know The App That Was White With A 🎯Target 🎯 & Grid On It Wasn’t Like That Cause Apple Took That App Off The App Store Cause All Of Mine Thats Had That Worked Still & Could Still Get The App On Other Apple Devices So It Was Still Available On The App Store. But Who Knows Maybe It Could’ve Been A Glitch & Shouldn’t Been Able To Use The App When That Happened & I Just Always Got Lucky Where My Apps Still Was Working When The App Icon Did That
