Iphone 11 camera distortion

I switched off HDR and Capture Photos Outside the Frame in camera settings, I’m pretty sure that’s cured the warped image problem.

I discovered this very annoying fault too after having taking photos for the time first using my iPhone 11 of my drum kit. In reality my drums are perfectly round!! However,drums in the photos appear warped !! One of the main reasons I decided to purchase the phone was for the camera,after Apple kept shouting at every opportunity of how amazing the camera capabilities are. Utter rubbish!! I’m now left with a phone with a camera that is basically useless!! .... I’d like to know what Apple plan on doing to rectify the issue or offer compensation to those of us who have wasted money.

Faces will be distorted if we are taking photos on iPhone 11 wide lens(not ultra wide) . Is this issue will be fixed in next updates ? Is Apple knows and working on it ?

I just imported my first set of photos taken w/my new iPhone 11 (not the Pro or the Pro Max). I was stunned to realize there is no “normal” (~50mm) lens on my iPhone 11. Only wide and ultra-wide on the back, and wide on the front. As a result, it’s impossible to get a photo of a person that doesn’t look very vertically squished and distorted! I didn’t want to spent the extra $300 for the third (telephoto) lens, but without it, I can’t take any pictures of people that don’t look terrible and severely distorted!!! I'd be really curious if the amount of variation among the regular iPhone11's you found is typical or uncommon...

If you’d read my post properly you’d realise that I didn’t say the photo of my kit was rubbish,it’s actually quite a good photo. What said was rubbish is Apple claiming the photography capabilities of the iPhone 11are the best ! Back to my photo;there’s a few oddities but obviously your eyes aren’t accustomed to seeing what should be perfectly round drums. The clearest example of the warped image,look at the “bass drum” the one on the floor. The rear of the drum appears smaller than the front of the drum,it’s clearly warped !!

I thought since you posted the drum photo, it was to you, an example of rubbish. Sorry you're not happy with the camera's on your new phone. I've taken outstanding photos with mine and I'm extremely happy. In fact, we went away over the holidays and I left my DSLR at home and used my 11 Pro Max exclusively and got some terrific shots.

I guess you’re amongst the lucky ones with no photography issues but there’s mounting evidence that Apple has a problem with these new phones. Let’s hope Apple cares enough to provide a fix ASAP otherwise I’ve got a useless camera for the 2 years contract ...

Both images look just fine to me. They almost appear as if they are the same image.

In what way is this photo of the drums "rubbish?" It's actually a pretty terrific photo.

I have the same problem with distortion on my iPhone 11. I wish reviewers caught this issue earlier.
