Getting a New iPhone

I would like to get a new iPhone 11ProMax. If I do a store pickup, do I need an appointment for someone to help me transfer my information from my iPhone7Plus and show me how to use the new iPhone, or do I just come pick it up and wait for someone to help me do that? I would prefer an appointment time. It would be for the Grand Central Station store in Manhattan. How do I arrange this? Thank you.

Generally, for a purchase, you do not need to make an appoitment.

But if you'd like, you can contact that Apple Store and explain your needs. They'll decide to take the appointment or not. See this link to contact them:--> Grand Central - Apple Store - Apple

They will not set an appointment for pickup and setup regardless of whether you call them or not, they haven't done that for some time. You check in with an Apple person at the front of the store. As soon as they bring out the iPhone (about 5 minutes if they are not unusually busy) they will offer to help you set it up and get started. If you need more help with the iPhone ask them to sign you up for the Basic iPhone session in the future or download the Apple Store app, set the location for the Grand Central Store and look for one of the intro iPhone sessions, sign up for it, and pick up your iPhone that day.
