Download and run the free G064 app to find out which of your applications are 32 bit an will not run under Catalina. It might get costly to upgrade a lot of 32 bit apps to 64.

Also, be aware that Catalina will no longer run any 32-bit third party apps you may have installed, like Office for Mac. They will have to be upgraded or substitutes found.
