Can I take out Apple Care or Care + when given a new replacement device in exchange for a faulty device?

Hi, Can I take out Apple Care or Care + when given a new replacement device in exchange for a faulty device. I understand that the standard warranty coverage is from the original purchase price but was hoping to get Apple Care on new replacement. If so how long do I have as I have just received new phone. Thanks in advance.

AppleCare (1 year limited warranty) is applied to all new devices.

As far as AppleCare+ (protection plan) is concerned, see this article:--> Transfer your AppleCare plan - Apple Support

Regards
