I purchased the AirPod pros and also had an allergic reaction to the silicone tips. I definitely would recommend that if anyone experiences itching they stop using this as it may be that there is an allergy to the tips. Follow up with a dr if unsure to avoid an ear infection.
Thx Nivrot. I have tried to add a summary of what we have learned since it is just endless threads of the same issues and failed resolution attempts repeated; it's so hard on anyone new here to dig through it all and understand that nothing has worked.
I do think I should add more of the does "not" work in it, and I will attempt to do that next time. There is such a debate over some of the items; I didn't want to turn it into a war among fellow sufferers. However, we should show more of the many tests that have failed even if they are anecdotal.
I forgot about the duct-tape! LOL
Allergic to AirPods too
My ears itch when I use them now. Something in the ear piece . I can't bare them. Used them fine for a couple of weeks until bam I couldn't leave them on for 5 min .
After having horrible ear infections with the Pro now I get the same with the regular wired Apple headphones!
Same here with the regular Air pods .
I never experienced any kind of ear infection or allergies in my ears before APP :( .
After my ear infection with the APP I bought the regular AP and now I have 2 pair of EarPods and I can’t use none of them !
So sad 😔
I tried some third party tips, foam silicones etc without success. I thought maybe it’s the plastic material so I tried putting a masking tape without covering the sensors, it help a little but still itching but not the same without. And then I ordered a silicone cover for the airpods which advertised as non slip. It arrived 2 days ago. In my observation the product seems solved my issue. I even put the original tips now without any problem.
I’ve tried everything too to solve this problem to no avail. Can you post a link to these silicone covers that you mention or a description of wha they are and where you got them from please?
They’re made it to make airpods stay in your ears. Good luck bro.
Before I try these, can I check that you do not have a link with this product and that you are suggesting this impartially as a genuine possible solution?
Thanks.
I’m not saying that it’s the solution. It just happens that it works for me. YMMV
Yeah, as I said a few pages ago, I tried those and they did not solve the problem for me. I have those and different tips on, still have the issue recur.
I’m glad it works for you!
I’m not linked with the product 😁. You can buy something like this. anywhere you want. My only intention is to make people aware that this exists. At least they can try this, before ditching their APP like I was thinking before.
Thanks - that's fine - I have ordered some to try - certainly worth a go...
Hope it’ll work for you too.
Best thing I read so far was ‘when can we get AAP2 - without the problem?’
Hopefully, we can then use the product, get our exchanges - and not get ill.
Ever the optimist!
