I purchased the AirPod pros and also had an allergic reaction to the silicone tips. I definitely would recommend that if anyone experiences itching they stop using this as it may be that there is an allergy to the tips. Follow up with a dr if unsure to avoid an ear infection.
Correction - the Apple support article - which I have called a disclaimer of sorts is dated. 5 November '21. Well after people complained of allergies...
Yes, I have the same problem and would LOVE to know if this is addressed with the new Airpod Pros 2 and or any other way. I love them; however, the itching and drainage is unbearable.
Unless they change the material in the silicone tips (other manufacturers don’t seem to irritate me) and the plastic/adhesives in the AirPods themselves this problem will remain - even the AP3 irritate my ear (a little discharge and peeling skin but no where near as bad as APP)
Did Apple help resolve?

No, but I didn’t expect them to. I think it’s a rare problem amplified by the modern means of communication.
They did - they refunded me my first pair of APP after 9 months of me purchasing them and also refunded me for the second pair of APP. I’ve always found their customer service very good (U.K. and Poland)
Apple is sending me a check and I’m sending the AirPods Pro back.now I need to find a pair that are as good.
Let us know if you find a good alternative! I love the small case, good sound and spatial audio. Shame I can't use them based on their new choice of plastic material.
The best bet if somebody hasn’t already mentioned it would be the comply foam ear tips specifically by comply you can find them on Amazon they work great no allergic reaction no popping out of my ear which is another annoyance in a much better sound isolation compared to apples sorry to say horribly designed ear tips
Comply tips worked for me on the Beats Studio Pro but not on the APP - seems it’s not just the silicon tips but also the plastic on the APP and AP3 themselves that causes irritations
The time I've been using the AirPods Pro, it is evident that the ear tips aren't the only problem with these earbuds. I am going to move forward with opening another case about my issue.
I'm still having problems with ear drainage and sores. The material from the AirPods seems like the problem more so. Looks like I'll be going to another company for open earbuds that don't go in the ear at all. It's much safer for our ear canal.
Go to a Doctor and tell them about the pods. I wound up on antibiotics and my ears are almost healed after a month. They are sending me a check and I send the pods back. Maybe they will stop using the same material. Keep complaining because Apple needs to know and fix this product which I loved.
Posting here so I can log my experience with the AirPod Pro ear tips. I’ve had mine for a year and never had an issue until I wore them for an extended period in warmer weather and my GP found I had a condition akin to Swimmer’s Ear (Otitis Externa). I have a steroid ear drop to flush my ears and help balance them out which has worked for a while. I have cleaned my APP thoroughly, even going as far as to wipe them down with a safe disinfectant solution to counteract any nasties that may be still present.
I had a break from them for a few weeks and my ears were fine. Wore them for over an hour yesterday and I’ve woken up to a lot of drainage this morning overnight.
Apple is refunding my purchase and has now put out a right to know list of everything that is in the pods pro.
