gift resend option not working

i purchased a gift card to send via email but my fat fingers typed gsmil instead of gmail and i’ve been resending it to the correct address but it won’t register for some reason.. i’ve logged out/in, unplugged and plugged back in, tried to contact apple support, tried resending to myself to forward it... i mean 😡😤 help!!
