Office 2019 version number

I recently purchased what I thought to be Office 2019 for the Mac. After redeeming the code from the Microsoft site and clicking on the install button I downloaded an installation pkg file titled Microsoft_Office_16.31.19111002_Installer.Pkg which to me looks like Office 2016. And when I did the install, the various Office components (Word, Excel, etc.) did indeed come up as Office 2016. Anyone else have this happen? I’m going to try to reach MS support but don’t have high hopes there.

The current version of Word, Excel, etc is 16.31.

Their number system is a bit confusing.

The name of the software is Office 2019. That has nothing to do with its version number.

As noted, the version is 16.31.xxxxx.
