Two Factor Authentication is not compatible with AppleTV+?

When 2-factor authentication was turned on (on my iPhone due to ApplePay) I encountered problems with AppleTV+. When I clicked on a show to watch an episode a security code popped up on my iPhone asking me to enter it into "the device". However, there was no way to enter it into the TV because no window popped up on the flat screen. I was completely blocked out of watching any of the shows I normally have access too because I could not enter the security code. Every time I clicked on a show or movie a new security code popped up on my iPhone. I had to turn off 2-factor authentication (that was still possible via the confirmation email I received because it is no longer possible via the appleID website). Now I cannot use my AppleCard since it requires 2-factor authentication. Has anyone encountered this problem with AppleTV+ when activating 2-factor authentication? Apple support told me this should not happen so long as I am logged into my apple account on Apple TV. But it did. I would not have access to AppleTV shows unless I was logged in. Thank you for any helpful comments of how to resolve this.

Thank you! Apple told me today to just type in the security code where I normally put the password. Sounds like I need to type in “password and code”. Thank you for telling me!

I have the older AppleTV. Apparently the newer ones no longer require this.
