IPhone 11 Pro Max camera very fuzzy/blurry

Hi everyone. Had an issue since launch on my 11 pro Max where the camera seems to be extremely grainy, have no detail and is really fuzzy, worst on the 0.5x camera, but does also do it in the x1 camera. Already had it replaced and new one does same. Done everything including factory reset and even started a new iCloud backup. Took it into Apple today and they said it needs further investigation which doesn’t really help me in the meantime. Does anyone know a fix please? Really getting annoying now. Below is a screenshot of an example it looks like a watercolour painting it’s that bad

I need photography classes? Wow. Well why don’t you “get up off YOUR couch and go outside” rather than posting idiotic comments on here. Apple shop have advised this is an issue on my handset. I will await a response back from Apple, don’t bother replying any more nonsense

This is just on the default camera app. Does it with night mode on or off. Apple shop said to me it’s defiantly not right but they don’t know how to solve it. In full daylight it’s fine. As soon as it’s even slightly low light, it’s a blurry fuzzy mess.

It’s picture and video. Of course I know you need flash in the dark.... that’s not the issue. It’s fine on normal camera. It’s anything that is outside of the frame that you can see it turns fuzzy. So when you zoom the camera out, the top and bottom which is not in view on x1 camera is really blurred and the rest just has no focus

I'm not asking about the app you are using. I'm asking which camera you are using. Your iPhone has 3 cameras. Telephoto, Wide and Ultra Wide. If you are using for example the Ultra Wide camera, there is no optical stabilization and it is the slowest of the three cameras at f2.4. It should never never be used in low light situations as it's too slow and requires bright light to take a good photo.

My guess is there is nothing really wrong with your iPhone, but taking a photo like you did in very very low light gave you a bad photo. Show us a photo taken outdoors in real light and I'm betting the photo will look just fine. Almost every photo posted in this every thread which people claim is bad was taken with the wrong camera in the wrong lighting conditions.

BTW, my $2,000 DSLR with a $1500 lens wouldn't have taken a better photo given the conditions you shared with the sensor.

Apple openly told me in the shop it definitely is not right. As soon as I take a photo or video of any dark area, even in the Apple shop a dark grey wall there is so much volume, where on my iPhone 8plus there was nothing at all. It just goes really grainy on anything dark

You are really taking poor photos partially because you are not focusing on any particular subject. The couch (and I think maybe your pants leg) is too close and you are trying to photograph all the way to wall in still low light. Get off your couch, go outside, use the 1x camera and take a photo.

You also might want to consider taking a photography class to understand composition, focal length, ISO, and other photographic practices which will improve your photographs.

OK. Believe what you want. You are taking bad pictures with badly composed subjects in low light. I was trying to be helpful. If you traded your phone for 5 other phones, you'd get pretty much the exact same results with the poorly composed, low light scenarios you are using to validate there is an issue.
