Audible and the iPod

I am sorry, I just put two and two together that you have an iPod nano and are trying to add an Audible book to your iPod nano. No model of iPod (except the iPod touch) supports Audible. Audible books require the Audible app which no model of iPod (except the iPod touch) supports. You cannot use Audible content on your iPod nano.

You are welcome. I am sorry that I was unable to provide a solution for you. Audible now encodes their audiobooks in a way that is no longer supported by these older iPod models.
