I just got myself a MacBook Pro. I noticed that it downloaded all of my pictures that I had on my iCloud and didn't want that. I tried to delete them just off of my computer, but they ended up deleting the pics off of my phone too. Now I don't have any of my pictures and I am trying to get an older back up, so I can get them back. Please advise on what I need to do. Thank you in advance for your help.

In photos, go to recently deleted and you can put them back (it you deleted them less than 30 days ago)

You can also check for a Recently Deleted album in the Photos app on the device and at iCloud.com/Photos using a computer browser.
The problem is I emptied the recently delete folder, thinking that I was only messing with photos on my computer not for all devices.
If you have made a TimeMachine backup, you can retrieve them from there, otherwise you will have lost them since you also emptied ‘recently deleted’
