how do I download updated BootCamp drivers?

I have updated my MacBook Pro 2018 to MacOS 10.15.1, not changing anything in Boot Camp. My Bootcamp is loaded with Windows 10 Pro with all the current updates as of today. I originally installed Bootcamp while my MacBook Pro was configured with MacOS Mojave and have made no changes to bootcamp since.

Boot camp has worked flawlessly for the three applications for which I am compelled to resort to Windows.

Until now.

Now the applications seem to run, but very slowly. Everything on the Windows side of my MacBook Pro is very slow, and quite different from before.

I don't quite understand how updating to macOS Catalina would affect Bootcamp, but there you have it. At least it is associated if not causative.

My first inclination is to update the Bootcamp Windows drivers, but I am not permitted to download the drivers when I go to the macOS Catalina Bootcamp utility. It says I must restore the bootcamp partition to MacOS and presumably reinstall Windows.

I have virus and malware protection on my Windows 10 partition.

Well, I really don't want to erase the partition and reinstall Windows. What a headache that would be.

All I want is to update the Bootcamp Windows 10 drivers. I was previously able to download Windows drivers from the bootcamp utility from the MacOS side. But not now.

My MacBook Pro is a15" 2018 model, Intel Core I9 2.9Ghz CPU, 32Gb of ram, Intel UHD Graphics 630, 2Tb SSD.

Any help appreciated...

Can you run a SMC and NVRAM Reset and test?

Run BC Assistant -> Action -> Download, but this will provide the original drivers for your Mac year/model. Apple Software Update on the Windows side provides updates, if any.

Antivirus/Malware protection can slow Windows down, especially if real-time protection is enabled.

You should not need too. Temporarily disable AV/Malware protection, when disconnected from any network and test.
