10.14.6 weirdness with HP LaserJet 200 Color with wifi

Updated to 10.14.6 on my laptop and now Laserjet at home won't print from this laptop wirelessly, but will from my wife's (not running Mojave) or an Imac (not running Mojave). Both laptops and an imac see the wifi and can get onto the internet. Printer is on wifi network and sees it.

Making matters worse, attempting to reinstall driver from HP (123.HP.com) - setup did not "see" printer. Trying to add printer from Sys Prefs doesn't see printer either.

Reset printer system on this laptop. Rebooted router and printer and set up everything again. No go.

HOWEVER - imac running 10.14.6 at the office and this laptop when in the office has no problem printing to same model HP printer over wifi.

What the Fred is this? BTW - info at HP website is as helpful as teats on a bull.

That's a weird one. I want to make sure I understand it correctly.

I wasn't aware of that 123.HP.com website, but it was completely useless given any combination of "LaserJet" and "200". I'm not sure if you couldn't find a driver with it (because I couldn't either) or if the driver you eventually found and installed just isn't working.

Did you try HP's "Easy Start" program from this page? https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-200-color-printer-m251-series/5097632

Or is any of this useful: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03317436

I don't intend to imply you couldn't search for answers from HP's abysmal website just as easily as I did, but their "Easy Start" program was recently updated and is supposed to work with Mojave. Having said that I gave up on HP a long time ago for reasons such as this.

Although it probably won't help either, create separate entries in Printers & Scanners - one for the LaserJet at home and another one for the office. If you are expecting to use a single print queue it probably won't work. They're two separate printers and should have their own individual entries.

Neither Easy Start nor Printers and Scanners (Sys Prefs) sees the printer at home even though non-Mojaves can print to it wireless and everybody can get out onto the internet. I searched HP's (abyssmal) website and found EasyStart. To no avail.

Imac in office running Mojave CAN print to same model over wifi network. I will retest tomorrow if my laptop can print there although I was sure it did late last week. I will report back.

Printers and Scanners says the printer is offline.

I don't doubt you and despite having given the matter a lot of thought I have no explanation. The only suggestion I have would be to reinstall macOS. It probably won't help.

As I wrote I gave up on HP a long time ago. The day I disposed of the last HP printer I bought is one I recall from time to time with fondness. Are you familiar with the movie "Office Space"? It depicts a more family-friendly version.
