MacPro Hard Drive

I am trying to delete files, especially large ones, from my hard drive as I have over 90 percent storage of the HD.

Of this there is almost 200 GB storage of iOS files which are the iPhone and iPad back ups. We have iPhone 7 models but the backups don't show which are earlier iPhone models (5 and 6) and which are iPhone 7

  1. Can I delete all these? Then do fresh back-up our iPhones and iPad.
  2. Is there a way I can transfer to an external drive?

Suggestions welcome

Thanks
