I sent money to someone and they accepted the transfer but now can’t locate the money
I don’t know how bank transfers work in the United States, I was talking from my own experience. I live in Finland and here it takes 1 day for banks to transfer money unless the person that is transfering money and the person receiving the money has the same bank. Only then is the transfer instant.
Apple Cash is not available in Finland. I do not know how you are sending someone cash through Apple Pay unless it is a merchant and then yes, the transactions reflect pending for different amounts of time.

I'm pretty sure that it could take up to 1 day for the bank to transfer the money to your friends account, unless you guys have the same bank.

it does not take one day for the money to transfer. If they accepted the money then it is there somewhere or they are not being truthful.
Is this someone you know or were you paying for something? If you were paying for something they could be trying to scam you.
