It’s been months since I used my MacBook & I can’t remember the password

It’s been months since I used my MacBook & I can’t remember the password.

I’ve tried to reset it using my Apple ID credentials but it won’t work. It’s possible I’ve changed my Apple password since I’ve used the MacBook so it may remember an led password. However the MacBook is connected to wifi so it should be connected to the cloud.

What do I do next to reset MacBook password?
