Just got my Watch Series 5 andI don’t know what I’m doing. Is there a tutorial?

Senior citizen here -just got my watch series 5. I don’t know what I’m doing. Is there a tutorial? I thought I’d synced it with my phone but it seems some features aren’t working like how to respond to a text or automatically counting my steps throughout the day.
