It could be, albeit a form Apple hasn't used for years for its iCloud type accounts.
iCloud: About your @icloud.com, @me.com, and @mac.com email addresses - https://support.apple.com/HT201771 "Depending on when you created your iCloud account, your iCloud email addresses and aliases may end with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com domains. Learn how these email addresses are granted."
Yes, me.com addresses were available several years ago from Apple. They are no longer issued. They also do not indicate an official email from Apple.
My son-in-law who I no longer have contact with, set up an @me.com email many years ago when I first got my iPhone. My computer Outlook email program keeps asking for a password, which I can't find. Nothing I try works. It keeps coming up every 20-30 seconds. I would like to cancel this email address, but can't find how to do it?
You need to enable 2 Factor Authentication on your Apple ID and create an app specific password to use. If your account won’t allow 2 Factor Authentication, try 2 step verification.

Can you delete the account from Outlook?
You can't remove/change @iCloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com aliases.
If you want to refer to this topic here you should bookmark it so it is easier to find again. In theory it should remain here for many years, though occasionally Apple does a system change which results in really old topics (such as those from 10 years ago) being lost.
This is too confusing for me. I want to keep this info and when my daughter comes over later this week, she can check into it. Will the above info remain so we can look at again later?
It should still be there.
