Water damage on apple watch series 3

I took my Apple Watch Series 3 in the pool for a swim and afterwards it started to glitch. The next day when I tried to charge it the watch got very hot and the screen was constantly glitching until it just turned black. Now it won't turn on at all and putting it on the charger does nothing. It may be important to know that there is a hairline crack along the bottom of the watch (which I believe should be covered by an exchange and repair extension program which I did not know about until I started looking into the watches warranty coverage) I just have the limited warranty on my watch, which is still good, and I was wondering if the warranty would cover the water damage?
