Add memory to my mac mini 2012

Can I keep my old 2 GB memory and add only one 8 GB on my mac mini late 2012?

It is better to install RAM modules in pairs, but YES it will run just fine on 10GB or 12GB of RAM.

Just make sure that you purchase the module(s) from a reliable suppler like OWC macsales.com or Crucial.com
