MacBook Pro 13" HOT

My MacBook Pro 13" is getting extremely hot! I just bought this a few days ago and wasn't sure if it is normal. Any ideas?

shut down and disconnect all external devices, then reset the System Management Controller

see this link:

repeat this step 3 times.

make sure your computer is out of direct sunlight, with it's vents unblocked by a wall, cat, etc. and nowhere near a space heater or other heating device.

If you are using your laptop for intensive computing like rendering or gaming then you will undoubtedly notice more heat generated than using it for web browsing and watching videos.

If you are concerned with the heat you can take it back to Apple for a free diagnostic. Apple offers a 14 calendar day full refund if you ask for the refund, otherwise they will try and fix it if there is a problem.
