Recently, when I needed to recharge my iPod Touch 2nd Generation, the screen tells me to connect to iTunes instead of showing the usual picture/icon of a battery charging up.
What does this mean and how can I charge my old iPod now?

For some crazy reason, when I plugged my iPod into my MacBook Pro this time, the battery charging icon appeared. It looks different than it used to but it’s working now. WTH? Thanks for your help.
