Whenever I go to download an app at the AppStore, I get a message that says verification required. It wants me to add a payment method even tho these apps are free that I’m downloading. I don’t want to add a payment method to my account. I googled this and in settings it says to remove payments ( I don’t have any tho) or click none but this isn’t an option for me.

For 1st time purchases, iTunes requires a valid payment method to ensure that you are authorized to use the App Store you are trying to use and that you are actually who you say you are. If you do not have any subscriptions, you can remove it after the account has been verified.

No, nothing has changed. I used to buy iCloud storage for $0.99 a month with an iTunes gift card but my gift card ran out so I decided not to do that this month.
Did you cancel the additional store of just let the card run out? If you just let it run out that is what has changed and is your issue. Use the link that Chris posted.
