I see a notice when i am sending a message in a group to non iPhone users where it says, Outgoing instead of 2 People. I have logged in/out and rebooted my phone (not factory reset) and it still does this. Why? My wife tried as well on her phone to the same 2 people and it does not work as well.
The group sees the message but when they reply it only comes back as 1 and not in a group chat.

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with messages coming back individually. This is expected in certain instances with Group Messages, such as with a group of non-iPhone users, which would be Group SMS messages.

"Group SMS
These messages also appear in green text bubbles and go through your carrier. Group SMS messages don’t support multimedia attachments, like photos or videos. All responses in a Group SMS are sent as individual text messages and the recipients can’t see the other responses from the group."

Well after the latest update the problem is gone so not sure why but thanks anyways.
Hi - I just obtained a new phone, iPhone XR from an 8. Before I updated I was able to send the messages in a group and receive them back as a group. I have moved to a new carrier but they can do MMS SMS.
I also have taken my phone to the Apple store and tried things with them and no luck so it seems this is an issue within the Apple world as other have the same issue. I would like to see Apple fix this pls.
