Add a second email account of the same name as existing

We need to add two email accounts of the same name to macmail. Two different providers, whilst switching services, so the old emails are stored as archive. This is possible in outlook but can't see a way on Apple devices. Is there a way to do this?

I take it that by 'the same name' you mean addresses such as

Fredsmith@provider1.com

Fredsmith@provider2.com

As the domains are different the addresses are different and there should be no issue about this. Rather than using menu Mail>Accounts use menu Mail>Preferences and select the Accounts pane. Click the '+' sign at the bottom of the list on the left and enter the details in the pane on the right and click 'Enable this account'.

Sorry I mean the same email exact address. info@domainname.com on one provider and info@domainname.com of new provider.

This is possible in outlook. The one stays as an archive ( outlook creates it as a new account with a (1) at the end to identify it as the newest one) and then when you switch mx records you can move to the new provider but keep the history of the old provider.
