Any way to sort consistently by date in Finder?

Basically by default (when sorting by date in Finder), files are lumped into sub categories (Today, yesterday, previous 7 days, etc), and within those categories is sorted by name. Is there any way to sort those by date as well?

Never mind I found it, it's View > Show View Options

If you hold down the Option key, the button and menu items become "Sort By."

Without the Option key, they are "Group By."

And, as you found, View Options shows both.
