Netflix and Prime video HDCP problem with external monitor.

I purchased an LG 29WK600-W monitor and used it connected to my MacBook Pro 13 2017 with macOS Catalina. Using safari as a browser, both on Netflix and on Prime Video I am not allowed to reproduce content because the monitor is defined as not compliant with the HDCP standard (I use it with the HDMI cable that came out of the box and an HooToo USB-C adaptor). Trying with Chrome the contents are reproduced but, once again, due to the absence of the HDCP standard, in most cases HD playback is prevented. How do I solve it?

Hi there, __Giovanni__.

I see that you're having a problem using your LG display as an external monitor with your MacBook Pro. You keep getting an error regarding HDCP when using Safari to stream Netflix or Amazon Prime videos. I'm glad to help with this.

Connect to HDMI from your Mac -- This article provides the information and steps that you need when connecting your Mac to a monitor using HDMI. Since I'm unable to confirm HDCP support from your USB-C adaptor, I recommend trying the adaptor recommended in the article.

Take care.
