Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

I bought a phone secondhand, the original owner removed it from their iCloud. It’s not linked to a findmyiphone on their account. However, the Apple ID and password that was used to setup the phone does not work. It comes up as e•••••@m•••••.com.

Why would the original Apple ID and password not work on an iPhone 11? It says it’s e•••••@m•••••.com, which is an email I don’t think exists because I’ve never seen it. Why is this happening?

if she is the original owner, have her take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store.
