It seems that imovie is not yet compatible with the new OS. How can I retrieve files from that app now?

Catalina supports iMovie 10.1.12 and 10.1.13. So you need to update to one of those versions.

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean by "retrieve files from that app". Can you explain a little more of what you are attempting to do, and what happens when you try?

I have saved projects inside the app. After I upgraded to Catalina OS, iMovie is not supported by it. The OS is 64 bit. iMovie is 32 bit. Any suggestions as what to do?
